"Holden Caulfield: A Hero for All the Ages" " by David Rachels argues
that Catcher is a book that is worth teaching at the college level.
Rachels stresses the benefits of rereading and questions the wisdom
of reading the book as only a tale of adolsecnet angst. I wanted to
post the url but the Chronicle does not allow public access online.
If you can get a copy of the March 30 issue, it's on page B5. will
PS Yes, I enjoyed the article as one of the few college professors
who has taught Catcher in college!
