Nuts to any more Buddhism. What intrigues me is
the identity of this bird, Alexandra Cushing. How does
'a member of my family' merit such 'commitment'?
Anyone old enough to write to the list who still feels
this way about his Mum (Mom?) is in urgent need
of a chat with his family doctor. On the other hand,
if it's a sister, he may find himself chatting, not to some
friendly old doc, but to the rather more austere local
    law-enforcement officers.

Also, what's all this snobbery about South Dakota farm
girls? My own late Mum was a County of Angus farm
girl - as was indeed Her Majesty the Queen Mother,
a next door neighbour with whom, ninety years ago,
she used to exchange innumerable insults & mutual derision.
As the great Duke of Wellington (or was it Dean Swift?)
remarked: 'Just because you're born in a stable doesn't
    mean you're a horse.'

Alexandra sounds just fine to me. (Which diminutive does
she use? Sandy? Alex?) Further - may I remind you -
Cushing is one the most illustrious names in the Hall of American
    Medicine.

I could go on. Maybe we could hear from Alex herself?

    Scottie B.
