PS: This is not to take away from multi-valence, possibility of multiple meanings, reader's responses and all the rest of it, but I think there _are_ situations where an author's intent is explicit and available, not that John O would differ from any of that, I presume.

PPS: It was only Cecilia saying something about running naked that made my mail-filters warn me that here was something worth my attention. Too bad I was disappointed.
