Unfortunately, Daniel, the "it" in the sentence I wrote which you cite did
not refer specifically to "writing," so your comment is irrelevant.
The "it" referred to the desire for one-sentence explanations and an approach
to complex concepts through dictionary definitions and simple summaries.
