for the record: i was trying to warn hester off of
the ranchan. (but, okay, you did make me laugh.)

as for alsen: i've never been a fan of his, though i
do give him credit for at least *attempting* to deal
with the glass stories on some sort of basis (and not
simply dismissing them as a misguided folly).

and, matt, now that you're going to be at ursinus, i
think you are duty-bound to post more often.
