For what it's worth, I would be sorry to see nancy leave our list--her
posts strike me as intelligent and insightful. I think it's rude to reply
in some of the ways that this list and many others seem to stumble on and
I think the voices that yearn to hear more about salinger's fiction have
the right to be heard on this list and not put down. On the other hand, I
don't think it's wrong for threads to develop that are not directly linked
to salinger's fiction and that's why subjects and delete keys are so
handy. Can't we tone down some of the conflict and turn up some of the
reading questions and comments that make this list a good part of our
lives?
