I regret that the great get-together didn't exactly come together. Will H.
tried my office several times (no, Will, it didn't annoy me!), but I was
out sick for a number of days, and everyone else had to cancel. So ...
we'll have to put our collective bananaheads together in the future and
come up with some excuse for a little face-to-face again.
I confess that I still can't bring myself to Radio City to see the kettle
drummer. Too many bad childhood associations, having grown up here!
But the Museum of Natural History, and the canoe, and the other exhibits:
now, that would be an emotional rush, for all of us who grew up with it for
real, and for all of us who know it through Catcher only. The canoe still
does it to me every time....
Anyhow, nobody missed anything much. It was cold, wet, and windy. A day
to sit in a chair next to Franny's couch....
But a toast (just water in my glass) to all our subscribers and our dashed
hopes. Another time!
