I've read a lot of posts like this in the six or so months I've been on
the list, and while I'd love to participate in helping people expand
their Salinger experiences, whether for school or else, I'm always at a
loss for where to start. I could give you my own personal Bible of
Interpretation of Catcher, and let Jim burn it down :), but that would
take more computer memory than my online mail service allows. Why don't
you ask us some questions, or introduce your own ideas, and we'll all
hash it out together.
The Socratic Method versus the Storehouse Method, see. I ain't a tutor
fer no reason.
