I like your thread Mattis--Salinger's sense of love, spirit, and voice
have a way of expressing moments that we may experience in very similar
ways. One way I like to look at Salinger's influence, is that I feel very
comfortable in his fiction--his fictive worlds are easy for me to inhabit,
understand, negotiate...and if that ease and understanding become part of
who I am, I like to consider it an improvement...Amen, brother, will
