Jaime makes a lot of sense to me. I don't think it's an accident that
one of Salinger's earliest stories was titled "The Young Folks." Some
may think he goes too far with seeing the intelligence of kids like
in "Hapworth," but I don't. I think Salinger does invest young kids
with ability beyond their age but usually the investment pays off in
readers.

This may be simplifying things, but it's work to see good things in
people and often young folks do this work more naturally and
insightfully than most.
