Here from Argentina, I agree with Cecilia. I was introduced to Salinger
while taking my degree on translation, years ago. The list of authors
included Poe, Pinter, Eliot, Beckett, Steinbeck. We read PDBF and For Esme
and Salinger was considered by Literature Professors to be an outstanding
short story writer.
