Hi-I'm Emily, I'm in San Diego (CA) & I'm 17. Like lots of people, I had to
read Catcher two years ago in school & actually, it wasn't what hooked me on
Salinger. I just liked it enough to buy 9 Stories, & the first story was of
course the best thing I've ever read, just about. So I've read the big 4, I
guess--Catcher, 9 Stories, Franny & Zooey, & RHTRC&Seymour, but none of the
other early lost stories. I actually don't do much-I'm really busy with school
& getting ready for college (Anyone out there in Providence? I'm going to Brown
next year) & whenever I'm not in school I'm at church (Unitarian, yes, we do
exist in California, a few of us) & in a few jazz bands which takes up
absolutely all my free time. I also read a lot, like Tom Robbins, Tom Wolfe,
Kurt Vonnegut, Irvine Welsh, & everything beat. So if someone could update me
on what exactly is the topic of discussion right now, I'd be pretty happy--I
read one or 2 messages from the most recent archives--are you discussing the
whole Seymour/Muriel thing? Because I'd like to talk about that and some stuff
in 9 Stories for anyone who thinks they really get that book. My email is
