I located an amazing used bookstore here in Chicago, last night, that I
plan on returning to this weekend. They had several Salinger items for
sale and I thought someone on the list might able to tell me if I had found
a bargain or not.

Ian Hamilton's Bio., Hardcover, $10.50

OLD paperback of Nine Stories with kind of a multicolored argyle cover.
Probably from the fifties. Not in the best shape, but it looks complete
and intact, $1.75

A paperback collection of essays on S. I can't remember the title, but it
had an essay by Updike in it. A little water damage, $4.00

Hard cover book of S. criticism edited by Bloom. Good shape, about $8.00

1st edition (or so the bookseller said) of F&Z for $33.00. A little water
damage and the dust jacket had some tears in it.

Three different old Hardcovers of Raise High, one was a 1st edition for $90.00

They also had an extensive collection of 70's porn mags which I didn't
browse through, ("sure you didn't, Dave." "No really, I like the
articles") but I remembered today that someone from "Oui" interviewed S.
back in '78. Uh..."Oui" was a nudie magazine, right? Is that who
interviewed Salinger? God am I gonna be embarassed by this e-mail if it's not.

That was all I saw. For any of you in Chicago, I think it's called The
Gallery or something like that. It's on Halsted right off Sheridan. Just
North of where Halsted and Broadway do that weird merge thing.

Dave
