Guns'n stuff

Some people have been talking about how it would
not be good if only the government had the guns.
Well, I live in iceland where nobody has guns except maybe rifles or
shotguns for hunting.
Why do ordinary people need guns? If you don't
like the government, are you gonna go and shoot them? Do you think
they will shoot you if you
don't have a gun? Tyranny? Do you really think
the government goes "Oh, I would like to pass
this law to raise taxes but I can't because
so many people have guns, they might not stand
for it".
The United States has the biggest number of guns
owned by ordinary people. It's very easy to get
a gun. The United States also have the highest
murder and crime rate of western countries.
Is this a coincidence? Maybe these two facts are
not at all related, maybe it's like that whole
big cigarettes-lung-cancer fraud?

Yes, I like ranting on and on. :)
Finally, a quote from some movie
whose name I don't remember:

-Guns don't kill people, people kill people

-Yeah, but guns make it oh so much easier.

Having said all that, I also think the United
States are a great country, and I really want
to go there sometime.
