The place I found most like Sydney (and that's the only place I can really
speak for) in America was Seattle - another beautiful, slightly crazy
harbour city, with leafy avenues alongside olde worlde buildings. As for
your accents - I must confess a sneaking fascination with the Southern lilt
(and is it Boston that pronounces its `a's in an Australian-like manner? I
can't remember where Good Will Hunting was set, but I was tickled to hear
them say `Paaak' like we do and not the rounded American `Poark' (: ) of
which I can do a passable impression. However, the American accent is so
ubiquitous over here as to not be the same novelty that the Australian
accent is in America.

I must say though, having watched Jerry Springer and attempted to decipher
what language is spoken in Trailerpark America, I'm pretty incredulous that
some people demanded subtitles on `Shine' (:
