Well, v.m. thanks, Jennifer. I don't believe I'd have
happened on such a clear explanation if I'd been hunting
for a month of Sundays. Just one example of the many
unexpected bonuses that can flow from membership
of the list.
In Ireland (& indeed England) the very concept of hypocrisy
is a completely foreign one. This probably explains why
I only ever encountered the term - albeit in profusion -
in the American context.
