A couple of years ago, some mysterious person out there sent me two
color photographs taken on a beach in Florida after the war. This
is part of one of them. The sender avoided most of my questions, but
said that his aunt had gone out with JDS some time during the late
1940s, and that these were pictures of them at the beach. (One of
the pictures did, indeed, contain his aunt, who was definitely not
a Sybil.)
I agree that he bears an uncanny resemblance to Seymour in the
pictures, what with the paleness and the terrycloth robe and all that.
I never heard back from the sender, don't know who he is or who his
aunt was, and it remains a mystery to me....
