Thanks for the welcome, my dear friends.
I was too blushingly happy to speak of it before, Jim et al, but yes, the *very first mail* that dropped into my laughing_inbox included a quote from Cecilia, my Eurydice, mentioning me. One of those magical coincidences sending one floating into the air. So I knew I wasn’t completely forgotten.
I'm so glad you’re still here, many of you, and yet others joining. Paul, Jim, Will, hearing your greetings is sending warmth into the cold stockholmian air. And Cecilia, my beaver-coated heroine, how I miss sharing perspectives with you. What a shame it would have been if you had departed from the list after the September turmoil (yes, I’ve done some, if not enough, archive homework this weekend) never to return.
Also, thanks a lot for welcoming an old faceless face like me, Valérie. Nice to hear from a fish in the right side of the pond making up for all those sleepy Americans who don’t start posting until the day is almost over. And with such a beautiful name, too!
A short introduction of myself, skipping all that running across the Chinese-French border, would definitely include the city of my heart, Stockholm, now again the headquarter for my subverse (isn’t that an English word? it should be) activities after my solipsistic New York experience, in which I lost contact not only with the list but other things of that David Copperfield-variety I’ll go into some time, for sure; but not now. I started my love affair with this community approximately at the time when Jesus asked for a small glass of ginger ale, and I was, just like you Val, definitely addicted, pushing the refresh-button all too often, whishing the parnasse of the bowl to write more and longer, longing for Scottties next provocative poetry and Tom’s diplomatic genius, essays from my own beaver-coated heroine or new bright postings from energetic rookies.
It feels good to be back.
