    Me too, Jaime. Though many will imagine they pity
    us, poor suckers still enthralled by such unfashionable
    writing.

    I blame the women. They're the ones started all that
    whining about the machismo & the cojones & the drunks
    & the death - which you & I know, of course, bear almost
    relevance to the man's unique, mind-altering achievement.

    The Local Hero used to worship him too - until that
    unfortunate incident with the chickens. But as I always
    say: what's a couple of poulets between pals?
