A side note: In the movie "Radio Days," the Woody Allen character's
parents spent all their time fighting. One memorable argument: Which
is the greater ocean, the Atlantic or Pacific? Not which is bigger
or deeper or warmer or colder, just the abstract "greater." Which
captured, in my eyes, the absurdity of the family's endless fighting.
Same time period, same city, but polar opposites of the Glass family,
by the way.

I don't mind following compare-and-contrast discussions about JDS's
books and other work; I welcome assertions, and anyone who offers one
here will find a number of people passionate enough about the subject to
jump in the fray. If you haven't joined in but want to do so, don't
be shy! The only guideline here is that the management of this lounge
frowns upon personal attacks, and urges warring factions to switch
themselves to private email exchanges in hurling insults and such.

As the person most responsible for worrying about the capacity of this
list, let me assure everyone involved that the only thing clogged around
here is the space behind my nose. There is plenty of room (literally
and metaphorically) here for all these discussions and a lot more.

Have at it, and I will return to the sidelines now, with my box of
tissues in hand....
