I think it's interesting, in the light of our most recent discussions about JDS' photographs to reflect on the recent death of Michael Hutchence and the "paparazzi" debate. (He died in Australia so we're being innundated with "media comment". I don't really know a lot about MH.) Michael Hutchence was apparently good friends with Versacce and Dodi Al Fayed and was depressed about their deaths. He claims that his relationship with Paula Yates was made unbearable partly due to the intrusion of the press and photographers.I'm not sure where this is leading to, but somehow I'm pleased that JDS so devoutly removes himself from the photographers "kill". I'm very pleased that he does not live in the world of photographs stolen by paparazzi and am not interested in stealing his image by purchasing those publications that print them. Somehow I feel that by delving into his private life and looking at his photos I'm part of a murder plot to "kill off" the real people behind those images. As a humble reader, I just want to enjoy his work. Lesley P. >---------- >
