well, really i was talking about the ungrounded assessment of the characters
being analogous to the ungrounded assessment of a whole age category of
society.  so i guess the sunday times propagated phenomenon.  i thought it was
a funny slip that the post about _on the road_ echoed the madison avenue image
of a 90's twenty-something...matt
