For Kari--

In an interview with chapman on a t.v. show called frontline, chapman
said that he felt like Holden --falling, falling: "I fell off the cliff
but i never did become an adult." On the street in front of Lennon's
apartment building, he wrote "To holden caulfield from holden caulfield.
this is my statement." He wrote the same inside the bookcover, and then
he blew lennon away.

"The reason I killed lennon was to gain prominence to promote the
reading of j.d. salinger's the catcher in the rye. . .I am indeed teh
catcher in the rye of this generation."
