If Holden was around before this movie "Dear whatever. . ." then I am
stumped. Maynard says (god, I hate to refer to her "i said i'd never
tell, but now i think i'll tell--i must be true to myself and my writing
[barf]" book ), that jds saw the names william holden and joan caulfield
on a movie marquee and then gave birth to the now famous name of holden
caulfied.
