The only one who's allowed in there is him (none of us of course except for the small sampling of work he's left us) - he is the only one with a code name for entry. He doesn't really need to be JD Salinger any more, nor does he need the real world. Even his stories towards the end of what we know of them are wholly self referential; characters writing letters to characters, for characters. Us real people are totally peripheral - which JDS obviously realised and stopped supplying them to us.
