people's high schools was there a teacher student affair? I realize this is

Unfortunately no, Patti. At my school alone there was two such incidents.
The first was a pedophile - the controversy was not that he interferred with
anyone, but that the school knew he had been convicted and gone to jail
before they employed him. The other case was a sports teacher who coached
the all-girls volleyball team - which coincidentally happened to have all
the prettiest girls in the class in it. We all have different theories on
how reciprocal this was, but on one of their tours, he gave them lots of
alcohol and a few drugs too and ... well, you can guess what happened from
there. The plot deepens when one of the girls brought charges against him
and he was VERY quietly escorted away from our school. The plot deepens even
more when a friend of mine knows the teacher who blew the whistle on him
actually lost her job and has since been blacklisted by the Catholic
Education Board.

So yeah, it happens!
