1. Pink Floyd -- Wish You Were Here (or Darkside perhaps). Mmmmmmm. Floyd. 2. Zeppelin -- Four. Zeppelin at its best. Battle of Evermore is a brilliant song and an interesting allusion to Tolkien. 3. Beattles -- Red, White, Blue albums. They all offer something different and lovely and I'd hate to choose one. 4. Jimi Hendrix -- Any of the many good collections of his best work. These four albums and groups form the bedrock of classic rock that lies beneath my other varied musical tastes. All, surprisingly, British born or inspired groups (yes, Jimi's career took off overseas first). I suppose though that it isn't fair to reccomend these titles anymore with any conviction of objectivity. Jimi will always bring me back to that quiet dorm room I occupied for a short while in northern Britain. Beatle's songs never fail to transform me into a small boy in the back of my parents' stationwagon. Floyd songs, more than any other music, have served as constant soundtrack through many of the most deeply emotional moments of my life and when I listen to them now I am always straining to hear or feel those lost moments. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. : Steven Gabriel -- sgabriel@willamette.edu : : http://www.willamette.edu/~sgabriel : '-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'
