So not too long ago Camille once again mentioned how much she loved _Lolita_, a book that I'd always avoided, despite tempting lyrics in my favorite Police song. And not too much later, I found myself (wonder of wonders) in a bookstore, looking for nothing in particular, and I picked up L., determined to finally buy it so I could see what all the commotion was about. And Camille, you were right. It is a truly excellent book. And if this was a Nabokov listserv, I'd probably start a thread on it right now, but I'll abstain. So, book recommendations, Jim's coat, and... pumpkin soup. (Tried it for the first time when I was in Sydney last year. And here I was, thinking that all you could do with pumpkins was make pie.) Oh, and Tim Tams too. I'm still trying to find an American supplier. Anyway, thanks. I just finished the book and wanted to tell someone how great I thought it was. Regards, Cecilia.
