Maybe. It might be too harsh, though. Try a solution of equal parts of
white vinegar and water or equal parts rubbing alcohol and water.

(Another miracle worker: hairspray. That's for ink, paint, or set food
stains on fabrics. So a hardcover book might or might not benefit from the
hairspray. Aqua Net gives the best results. It might leave a residue,
however.)

It also depends on if it's soaked into the edges of the book pages or not.
If it's already dried, it may not come out. In that case, a fine grit
sandpaper around the edges can work wonders.

With that subject line, I was expecting something a little less... clean.
