who's who, and how many?

In answer to the question about who is who on the list, and where
they're from, I don't have much in the way of answers. I can say that
there are about 100 subscribers now, down from nearly 300 on the old
list. This amount fluctuates by as much as 10% as people come and go.

The web site has stats on who browses the site, and that actually
tells you where the browsing originates, and from what continent, and
so forth. Have a look -- I update it every few days when time
permits. It's at www.roughdraft.org/.

As far as listing the subscribers, I won't, as someone noted, be able
to do that, and I don't have an easy count of subscribers by nation.
The majority of subscribers come from .edu and .com, and the
non-American subscribers come from their country codes (e.g.,
"ca"=Canada, "ie"=Ireland, "uk"=United Kingdom, "fr"=France). I
suppose that if I were so inclined, I could write a script that would
parse out this information, but I must decline at the moment due to
overwork in other areas. As Mother Grencher would be the first to
admit....

Cheers and thanks for contributing to the various conversational
threads that have sprung up! It's nice to see some conversation
taking place again, after a long, fallow period.
