OSR--How many Jeromes are there? More to the point, how do you reconcile
the Salinger so fondly invoked in Bruce's "fair use" quotation (was that all
there was about JDS? Or were you confining yourself strickly to the legal
limits?) with the monster emerging from all these kiss-and-tell bios?
Was he "nice" back then, and only "nasty" more recently? If so, when did he
suffer from an invasion of the body snatchers--or is it soul catchers?
("Dream Catcher", by the way, sounds entirely inappropriate to describe this
kook; not to mention demeaning a rather beautiful native north american
invention....) Finally, sorry, guys, but this is the journalist in me, Why?
