Alsen's Chronology, if I remember correctly, is supported in the text.
However, very often it's supported by Hapworth 16, 1924-- Seymour predicting
what will happen to him, not necessarily things that will *actually* happen
to Seymour.

He takes the stance that you can read Hapworth as a history written by
Buddy, and you can therefore take the predictions as actual events.
Alternately, he suggests that you can also read it as a letter actually
written by Seymour, and treat Seymour's predictions as truth. Each rasing
could be valid, and each produces the same result: Hapworth should treated
as a true history.

In fact, Alsen treats Hapworth as the most important story of the whole
Glass canon. The point where either Buddy finally got it right or Seymour
finally speaks for himself. The truth, in other words.

I haven't read the book in quite some time, so I can't remember precisely
what evidence he uses for these proclamations. (And I returned it to the
library a [little] later than I should, and they've quite possibly got a
bounty on my head.) However, I do remember that the evidence for the
chronology is rather thin in parts. Whether you believe it or not, it's a
fascinating read.

Regards,
Cecilia.
