Cecelia -- I'm still a bit ambivalent towards the end of Catcher. I don't
really know how much Holden changed. I think his "missing everybody" is a
pretty good "emotional" about face compared to wanting to live in a cabin
in the woods. But I don't know that his thinking really changed. And why
did he start missing everyone? Wasn't it because he was telling the
story? I honestly forget. But if that is so, Holden's "missing everyone"
may be commentary on the role of literature in all this.

Scottie -- Come on, you don't really believe we're just all bad and there's
nothing positive whatsoever, do you? :)
