To me it does provide an insight into why the author believes in the 'death
of the author'.

who hesitantly coming out of an extended lurk-mode, feels good to be
touching base with all of you once again, and recently looking at a link to
his old web page link provided here, had a sense of deja vu, and much
additional empathy with JDS' decision to let his underpublished material die
a natural death.
