i've got to say jds carries it all too far. his
secret- goldfish attitude. (i hope he realizes one day
all of his work will be in the public domain, and any
old publisher can put out an edition of 'the catcher'
with any illustrations he deems worthy of
consumption.)

the refusal to allow a judicious amount of quoting
from the 4 books in respectable literary
articles/books is unforgivable.

i must say when i feel especially put off by his
attitude, i turn to gordon lish's story 'for jerome:
with love and kisses'.
