re: franny and zooey

all this talmudic pondering is fun, but i can't help
recalling that someone wrote 'zooey' after 'franny'
and then gathered them together in a volume as early
entries in his saga about some settlers in 20th
century n.y.: the glass family. (or some words to such
effect presumably written by j. d. salinger.)

so when we turn the page after 'franny' concludes, and
are immersed in 'zooey', i doubt the talmudic fine
points are pricking too many readers. the reader has
'franny' fresh in her mind, and isn't saying, hey wait
a second, this new franny isn't the franny i just
left moving her lips.
