I like simple covers too and I know that Salinger insists that his book
covers have no pictures or anything like that but the burgundy cover
version of Catcher that someone else mentioned is very simple too and in my
opinion MUCH nicer than the white covers with black writing. That burgundy
one just has an overall better quality feel to it when you hold it in your
hand. The white-covered books just look unprofessional. My copy of "RHTR,C
and S:AI" is a very simple yellow cover with white writing. The copies of
"F&Z" and "Nine Stories" that I have are the white covered ones and they're
annoying, but I couldn't find any other.
