i think i know what you mean; though i often lament wryly how americans usually dont really know a damn thing about their own country, let alone the rest of the world, i find i am often just as bad. when i make my daily commute to school each morning on the bus, i could easily pick up a newspaper, but usually am too immersed in a book, be it schoolwork or something 'soul-feeding' like my tattered old copy of nine stories. but when i do pick up the LA times or some such thing, i often regret it almost as much as the rare times i catch 5 minutes of crap on TV. is it just me, or does the past few months or so seem (especially) terribly distasteful for the media? --nathanael (a comp.sci. major, for what it's worth) >>about and uninterested in current events, or the fact that most people >>my >>age get their news from Tabitha, Kurt and their local news.
