It's really amazed me how we've got a microcosmical Lewinsky Affair
happening right here in Salingerland. Sorta makes you wonder about things
... Andy Warhol once said that the Pop Artists were all painting alike even
before they met. It's sort of like that. I figure the best that can come
out of the Maynard Affair is that maybe Salinger will throw up his hands
and an unpublished book or two will fly out of them. Then again, I think we
thrive on the mystery of the man more than we realise. The Maynard thing
has certainly shrunk a few metaphysical Salingers within our heads.

Wouldn't Andy Warhol have *loved* Monica Lewinsky? (:
