Hello, My name is Paul Janse, I am new here, I am a Dutch 33-year old Salinger-admirer, have been reading his books over and over again for the past 9 years. Who could shed light on the following issues: - Does the spoken language ("Manhattanese") sound dated now to American readers? - I read somewhere (I forgot where) that Nabokov admired Salinger. Is tha t true? How about vice versa? - Have his books been translated into Russian? - From Franny and Zooey it is clear that Salinger admires Tolstoy. How about other Russian writers?
