Mr. Paterson: Regarding legality of posting, I just checked with my daughter's godmother, she's an attorney, & she likes the idea of a Salinger posting page. She would like to join, but is scared of all the reading. I'll pull her in yet. Anyway, she says that as long as you don't post long, rambling sections, it's ok. As long as it is kept to quotes that illustrate your point, it is perfectly legal. Even Salinger can't complain about us posting a sentence or two occaisionally as long as it stays within the context of scholarly discussion. Sorry to be dull, but that's the scoop. I admit to being lost regarding the Weaver situation, so if you could shed some light on what it's all about, I would appreciate it. Feel free to use a quote or two. Namaste, Thor P.S. Please check out my web page & let me know what you think. http://www.uscolo.edu/TAC/ I read all of the first submission (Phoenix III:i, Winter 1970) and found several quotes that point to connections between Giles Weaver and the illustrious J.D., even one that sounds like his relationship with Maynard. If it wouldn't be some sort of bizarre copyright violation, would anyone be interested in my posting some of the highlights from my reading?
