Ach, once again, someone who missed my point.  And I am confident this time 
it wasn't my fault. 

But I will respond here.  Of all the above titles, the only one I'm familiar 
with is Trainspotting, and that only by way of the movie titled by the same 
name.  I don't know that the two are related, but if so, Trainspotting the 
movie is a good example of a coming of age story that relates to a larger 
context.  Most of Salinger's stories, such as Catcher (as I said in my first 
post), relate to a larger context.
