Hey, wasn't there some God-awful Mel Gibson movie where he's some sort of
paranoid/conspiracy theory freak and he has to buy every copy of The Catcher
in the Rye that he comes across?

And if I'm right, I think in that self same movie he goes over to his
friend's house (played by Danny Glover [the friend, not the house]) and
discovers his friend trapped on the eau de toilet. He can't get up because
if he does a bomb will go off. Embarassing eh?

Oh that reminds me! Speaking of good comedy, I believe there was a spoof of
this scene in some other movie starring Samuel L. Jackson and Emilio
Estevez. Estevez goes over to Jackson's house and busts in the door. He
yells out Jackson's name. Jackson yells back "up here!!!" He runs up and
bursts into the bathroom to discover Jackson on the toilet. "what!!???
what's wrong??!!" estevez screams to Jackson. "just taking a shit" Jackson
replies. Riotious laughther erupts from the belly of Joey

i'm guessing we can use the film/book as a motive about as much as we can
use catcher for that chap who shot john lennon or taxi driver for the
crackpot who shot reagan. may as well have been a crack in the pavement that
tripped them up. as for the comment, anybody seen Rope? or The Last Supper?
