Thanks for reply.  And for the reference to Langer (another to add to my
personal Hapworth-length-and- growing list to read).

Goodness, the Stevens' lines you keep quoting has just added The Collected
Poems of W.S.  to my Santa list.

Regardless of what Matt writes in his post "Re: dogs" re words not up to
communicating feelings and emotions, those of us on, or aspiring to be on,
the poetry side of the 50-yard line should keep trying.
