I'm glad your brought this up.  When I read the post you quoted I wanted to 
reply to it too, but didn't...till now :)

I've recently started reading The Inverted Forest.  The child's voice is much 
more believable there -- from sentence structure to spelling to the concerns 
expressed by the child.  I've only read a few pages into it, now, this is 
just my first impression.  

But it was worlds different from Hapworth.  That's the thing...
