Will,

It's a fine poem. You should submit it -- I have a piece that In Posse
Review just took, and they're actively looking for more.

http://www.webdelsol.com/InPosse/terrorist_index.htm

You will find a link to submission guidelines on that page, too.

Alternately, Pedestal Magazine will be focusing its next issue entirely
on the attack:

September 11, 2001
10:45 a.m.

As most of you know by now, serious terrorist attacks were launched
against America today. Highjacked planes were crashed into The World
Trade Center and The Pentagon. At this time, there are other unconfirmed

attacks, as well as several planes that are unaccounted for, planes
which
may very well have been highjacked as well, perhaps for the purpose of
launching further attacks. There have been an unknown amount of
casualties, as well as inestimable economic and social consequences.

The next issue of The Pedestal Magazine is scheduled to be released on
October 21, 2001. With this issue, I would like to depart from our
standard format. Instead of featuring a single writer and artist, I
would like the “writing feature” to be comprised of personal
reactions, poetry, and essays regarding this tragedy. I would like the
“art feature” to include photographs and artwork which center
on images of devastation linked to this event.

Many of you live in New York and Washington and could give firsthand
accounts of the devastation wrecked, in terms of writings and
photography/artwork. I invite you to submit appropriate work to The
Pedestal Magazine. I also invite other people, from all over the world,
to send their writings, reactions, artwork, etc. I think it is important

for this event to be honored and documented, and it is my hope that all
of you will assist The Pedestal Magazine in this endeavor.

Departing from our standard format will be costly for The Pedestal
Magazine in terms of both money and time. I ask, therefore, that all of
you who are included in these “features” not ask for financial
compensation. As I say, I think it is important (essential) for this
occurrence to be documented, and we at The Pedestal Magazine are willing

to put forth our resources in the hope of achieving this. We hope that
you, our readers and viewers, will be willing to contribute work.

Over the next month or so, we will be accepting material that focuses on

this tragic event. If you use the submission form provided on The
Pedestal Magazine website to send material, please note this on the
title line by writing “Re: 09/11/01.” If you send material by
e-mail include your text in the body of the e-mail (no attachments,
please) and type “Re: 09/11/01” in the subject line. If you
are sending artwork or photography to us, please send your images
in .jpg format and write “Re: 09/11/01” in the subject line. All
images should be sent to pedmagazine@hotmail.com.

We at The Pedestal Magazine have been deeply moved by what has happened
today. We want to present “features” which will, again,
acknowledge and address this catastrophe and the devastation it has
caused. Please assist us. Send us your work, and inform your friends,
acquaintances, and colleagues of our intentions, with the hope that they

too will want to be involved.

We at The Pedestal Magazine wish you the best in this time of
national/global upheaval.

Sincerely,
John Amen

The world, outside of a few hundred bananafish, needs to see this. I
also post this to the list because I know that a large number of
bananafish members are writers and artists in some way, and many of us
do not know what else to do.

Regards,
Cecilia.
