I LOVED The House of Mirth. I had read several Jane Austen books before. So
when I read Mirth it seemed like, I don't know, Jane Austen meets Thomas
Hardy or something. It was those same society people with their parties and
their rules but with a real dark side.
Did you see the movie? It's been out less than a year. It stayed close to the
book.
