I also have been thinking that things like the WTC attacks -- big events --
make people reexamine priorities. Reading this list takes time and it just
came up short on a few people's priorities. I know I am behind on things I
want to read about the attacks and terrorists and such. That stuff takes
time. I think a couple of the ex-fish even mentioned that they'd been
thinking of leaving the fish bowl for a while. The world situation just
pushed things over the line.

Well, maybe they'll be back.
Visualize bin Laden coming out of his cave, merrily strewing flowers while
everyone happily goes back to their light-hearted pursuits. Visualize,
now! Everyone! It could happen. :-)

And Mattis, too. But you should have Cc'd them in. Or maybe it was intended
to be rhetorical in their absence.
