Although all this baiting amongst everyone is as amusing as ever, I hope I
can slip a question in here.
I don't think I've mentioned this on list, but this fall, I'm going to be
doing something a little different: I'll be teaching high school in
Brooklyn.
My principal informs me that I'll be teaching writing to ninth graders,
and so I've been looking for ideas. Some of the best ideas I've
encountered have come from friends, so I thought I'd ask the list: what is
the single best writing project you were ever assigned? This class
encompasses all kinds of writing: business writing, essays, poetry, short
stories, research papers, &c., so no need to limit your responses to
creative writing.
Again, I don't want to pollute this list, so please send replies directly
