will,

i enjoyed your excellent nuanced review of 'dream
catcher'. by far the best i've seen.

i do wonder about matt salinger's take on the family.
doesn't janet malcolm quote him as saying he doesn't
recognize the family life as portrayed by margaret?

the first 100+ pages were thrilling to read. (i
imagine jds did not also appreciate the many photos
released to the public.) but i found the remainder
could have used an aggressive editor.

it's unfortunate that margaret herself then followed
joyce m. to the auction block with her father's
letters to her. though i see in salinger.org they
didn't reach the minimum and hence weren't sold.

kim

p.s. apologies to scottie (if he even bothers to read
this affectation).
